Fortunately, The Steam Team has no problem removing pet odors from your home. You just have to give us a call first! Rely on The Steam Team for any and all of your cleaning and restoration needs; you won’t regret it!

Until we arrive, here’s how you can treat your home for pet odors:

Vacuum Often

We know our pets track in dirt, sand, and mud from outside that needs to be vacuumed frequently. But another thing that we may not think about as often is pet hair that is tangled in our carpet fibers. This causes odor for sure! Vacuum frequently to make sure you’re collecting all of your pet’s fur and reducing the odor in your home.

Use the Right Cleaners

It’s also important to make sure you’re using the right cleaning solutions when tackling pet odor. For example, when cleaning urine spots, you should only use enzyme cleaners; cleaners that are not enzyme will essentially do nothing for you!

Have Carpets Professionally Cleaned

Occasionally, it’s wise to have your carpets professionally cleaned! A professional steam cleaning company, for instance, will have all of the correct tools, cleaners, and equipment for the job! There’s just nothing like that expert clean. So don’t hesitate; contact The Steam Team today!

How Best to Clean Your Office Area Rugs in the Winter

As our year comes to a close, we end up reflecting back on the good, the bad, and the ugly of 2017. This past year has had it’s shares of ups and downs, just like the years before it- but we’ve definitely found ourselves in a lot dirtier situations here in Texas. Hurricane Harvey brought torrential downpours not just for the Houston area, but for all surrounding areas, too. The floodwaters left behind tons of dirt and grime that could even be potentially dangerous to our health. What better way to kick off the New Year than with a thorough clean for your whole office?

Germs spread like wildfire- and in the winter time, more often than usual. Typically this can be traced back to the colder temperatures causing us to stay indoors more, and thus, spread our germs with each other. Winter time is the worst time of year for the common cold, flu, and other respiratory illnesses- so here are our tips for keeping your workplace (and home) disinfected and germ-free!

Heat & Pressure

Germs, bacteria, and other allergens are no match for a steam clean! The intense heat and pressurized water ensures that nothing is left behind to continue spreading. This method of cleaning is completely safe for the environment, and will not leave behind any excess moisture or harmful residue- so there’s no need to worry about mold growth!

Flooring

Regular vacuuming routines do wonders for keeping up with the dust, dirt, and allergens that plague our carpets on a daily basis. It’s likely that the cleaning crew does a fabulous job of this, but we should still expect the office flooring to need the occasional deep cleaning, just as your house does, so...

Fire Damage Tips Austin Texas

Winter is right around the corner… and as temperatures begin to drop, some of us are lighting our fireplaces already! It’s important, however, to remain educated about fire safety this season. Fire damage is definitely not something you want to deal with, so let’s follow these five safety guidelines when burning fires and heating your home this winter:

For space heaters:

Don’t Use Space Heaters (As Primary Sources of Heat)

Space heaters can be very dangerous and should only be used as supplementary sources of heat. And of course, they should be placed in a safe area, away from curtains, clothing items, flammable liquids, decorations, etc!

Use a Reliable Extension Cord

When it comes to the extension cord for your handy space heater, make sure it’s the adequate cord! If the extension cord is unable to handle the current, it could potentially overheat and melt. Then you’re in need of a replacement cord at best, or dealing with fire damage at worst.

For fireplaces:

Use a Fire Screen

Fire screens are used to shield the room from popping embers. They’re made of chain link or sometimes glass (always remember that glass can get really hot, and thus dangerous for pets and children).

Utilize the Proper Tools

Your fire will need to be poked and prodded periodically to keep it burning. Be sure you’re using the correct tools, for your own safety!

Clean Your Chimney

Lastly, it’s important to have your chimney cleaned at least once per year. Clearing it of dust, dirt, soot, and debris will help smoke flow through it easily. We service all of Central Texas. Please visit our website for service areas in Austin
