Step 1: Initial Rug Inspection & Rug Pick Up At Your Home Or Business

We will schedule a Steam Team Rug Cleaning professional to your residence or business to inspect and pick up your area rug. Your technician will measure your rug and give you a no obligation estimate. We will take your rug to The Steam Team's technological rug cleaning facility, conveniently located at 9901 Burnet Rd. Step 2: Detailed Follow Up Rug Inspection

At our state-of -the-art rug cleaning facility, The Steam Team Rug Expert will measure and  inspect your area rug to determine its construction, special requirements and most effective cleaning method. Rug damage will be documented. Things such as mold damage, mildew, soiling, stains, discoloration, worn fringe, and pet urine. If repair is needed, The Steam Team will call you with recommendations and course of action to make the repairs and restore your area rug prior to our cleaning process. With an approved final quote, we will begin the rug cleaning.

Step 3: High Pressure Air Dusting

Using a compressor, we will dust the area rug on both sides prior to our cleaning. Compressed air is an effective way to remove dust particles, soil, and other small particles, not removed by regular vacuuming.

Step 4: Area Rug Cleaning, Submersion, Washing and Rinsing

After compressed air dusting, we will test the rug for colorfastness. We will then hand wash the rug to maintain its color vibrancy and prevent color bleeding. Cleaning agents and a clean-water rinse is used to remove all staining, pet urine, dirt, and odors. This process is repeated until the rug water washes clear and there is no more soil remaining. 

Step 5: Air Rug Drying

Every clean rug is air dried for natural and gentle rug care. Some rugs are hung to dry, using gravity to pull water out, while other rugs are dried flat based on the best determined method with some drying equipment.

Step 6: Rug Combing & Brushing

We will brush and comb your area rug as it is drying, creating a luxuriously soft rug upon delivery.

Step 7: Final Rug Fringe Cleaning & Grooming

Once we dry, the fringe is groomed and combed, with the edges trimmed for the final touch.

Step 8: Post Vacuuming & Last Inspection

Once the rug cleaning process is complete and the final repairs are complete, the rug is re-vacuumed to catch any loose fibers that we trimmed.

Step 9: Rug Pads and Area Rug Fiber Protection 

As an upgrade service, we can apply fiber protection to help prevent your area rug from staining in the future.
